Most memorable place visited:

Cambodia, we spent a day with a local where he took us driving through remote countryside on his scooter, through desolate towns where the people had nothing but still had a smile on their faces. We drove to a mountain in the middle of nowhere and hiked up it in the boiling hot weather, when we finally reached the top we were greeted by a group of smiling monks all so welcoming and the most stunning Pagoda that looked out over the countryside. Sitting on the edge of that mountain with the monks literally took my breath away.

The most valuable lesson you’ve learnt from living and working overseas?

Travelling in 3rd world countries has taught me that happiness and inner peace is so easy- we don?t actually need anything materialistic to feel it, just a positive attitude.

And always keep a travel journal, it is always the small funny stories that you wish you could remember!

Favourite places visited:

Japan was the first place I ever went and the culture and people were so different to NZ – incredible. Vietnam for the people and landscape. Morocco and Turkey for their exotic craziness. Greece – the BEST place for a holiday. New York and Melbourne are my 2 favourite cities. Barcelona ? if you have been, you know why! If you haven?t, just go there and then you will know!

Most memorable place visited:

Cambodia, Nepal and South Africa. With the environment some of their people have to survive in, they are AMAZING.

The most valuable lesson you’ve learnt from living and working overseas?

Different cultures, languages, attitudes, lifestyles and people are what make the world such an amazing place. The local people wherever you go will give you more insight into a place than any monument ever will. So go have a beer or a coffee with a local!
