Low program fees

Great Camp Salary

We know it’s not about the money, but we do feel you should be paid fairly! That is why we offer one of the highest camp salaries in Australia! Working as a camp counsellor is tough work and we want you to be paid fairly for your hard work. Once again, do your research and you will find we pay more than any other camp organization.

• If you are under 21 years: up to US$1,650
• If you are aged 21+ years: up to US$1,800

*Work at a special needs camp and earn an additional US$100

If you are a returning counsellor you are free to negotiate your own salary with the camp directly, salaries are typically US$2,200 or more.

Personal Placement

Our goal is to find the perfect camp for you – not just a camp. Unlike other camp companies that require you to make a video to be placed, we do not require that. If you want to include a video that’s great, but it is not mandatory. We want to get to know you and then find a camp that will utilise the amazing skill you have. It’s all about personal placement with us. You are more than a number with Summer Camp USA you become part of our extended camp family.

J1 Visa for Summer Camp

To be eligible to work at a camp in America you will need to obtain a J1 visa. We work with the largest J1 visa sponsor in the USA and will walk you through the entire process making it easy!

Medical Insurance

Our program fees include your medical insurance – no extra costs! As you may know, health care is expensive in the US. Our program includes medical insurance so you can rest easy when on the program. We make sure you are looked after while in America.

FREE Food & Accommodation

The entire time you are working at summer camp you will get free food and accommodation. You don’t have to budget for meals or your accommodation on Summer Camp USA – it’s all included. Most camps also offer free laundry too!

1 FREE Night Accommodation in NYC or Boston

If New York City or Boston is your designated arrival destination, you will receive a FREE night accommodation as part of the program. This awesome perk will let you save some money, meet other summer campers, check out the city and attend your meet and greet together.

Before you leave for camp in America we provide an orientation which covers everything you need to know about being a camp counsellor. We will cover what to expect when you arrive, team building, expectations of camp directors, camp responsibilities, social media at camp, deal with difficult situations and much more. It is important to us that you are prepared for camp before you even leave Australia!
