It’s 5 kilometres south of the city of Fernie, in the southeast corner of British Columbia, a short drive from the Albertan border. Fernie is a historic mountain town founded in 1898. It’s where small town charm meets adventure!
Fernie Alpine Resort offers a range of activities including Ziplining, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Guided Tours, Health Spa and many more! In the area you can go exploring the waterfalls, rock cliffs and caves dotting the hills and valleys. You can even try white-water rafting in nearby town Elko. Come to Fernie for an amazing experience!

Staff Accommodation at Fernie Alpine Resort
Fernie Alpine Resort does not have staff accommodation but there are places to live in the nearby town of Fernie. Fernie Alpine Resort sends out housing newsletters to help staff find a place to live. Facebook groups are becoming the norm for sourcing and securing seasonal accommodation.
Housing varies from $400 – $800 per month, depending on the type and location in town. In Canada it is standard to pay per month on the first of the month with a damage deposit required as security. No shuttle bus service is available in the summer season. Car pooling with co-workers is the norm. Bike riding to and from work is not uncommon.

There are so many things to do in Fernie! Float the river! Fishing! You can go hiking and check out hidden waterfalls, massive rock cliffs and even the deepest cave in Canada. You could go biking along the dike trail surrounding the town, white water rafting in Elko, or check out the Fernie Golf and Country Club. Head to the museum on a quiet day and stop by one of the many coffee and retail shops along historic Victoria Avenue. The City of Fernie hosts ‘weekly outdoor socials’ all summer long, a great place to meet and mingle with the locals.
